What to Expect when we do Tile

What to expect from your top quality tile job from Castile Construction:

All of our tile work is done using the very best of ceramic tile and setting products available, and what we believe to be the best techniques throughout the tiling process. Much care and thought goes into the preparation and installation of your new tile project. With a little care your tile should provide a lifetime of durability and fuctional beauty.

With our installation, we provide what we call our two year " bowling ball proof" warranty. What this means is that if somehow you brak a tile or two in the first two years after installation, we will fix it for free

With installation we include a one year inspection. Often, after a year or so, the natural movement in a wood framed house will casuse stress fractures in some (usually one or two) of the grout lines between the tiles. This movement is normal and our re-visit allows us to find and repair any areas where movement is found before any problems develop. Please call us at 541-554-6974 or send us an email to schedule a visit a year or so after installation.

Here is a few things you can do to help your tile have a long and healthy life:

A) Clean your tiled surfaces regularly (once a week is good) with a gental, non-abrasive, non-acidic detergent. Read cleansers product information to insure it is safe for use on tiled surfaces.

B) Remove surface water after use with a rubber squeegee. This will allow wet areas to dry between uses, discouraging mildew from forming.

C) If mildew begins to discolor grout, or leaves a haze on the surface of the glazed tiles, clean with a mild bleach solution.

D) Sometimes, metallic or other hard objects can leave black or grey marks on glazed surfaces. Usally these can be removed by scrubbing with a clean pencil eraser.

E) Regular tile maintenance includes thoroughly cleaning and resealing grout with a mildew resistant sealer. This is not just a good idea, it is essential for the life of your tile. To ensure healthy, long lasting and grout, clean and reseal all surfaces a minimum of every three years, using high quality grout sealer.
